My Calendar is a - Denial of Service (CVE-2026-40308)

CVE-2026-40308

My Calendar is a WordPress plugin for managing calendar events. In versions 3.7.6 and below, the mc_ajax_mcjs_action AJAX endpoint, registered for unauthenticated users, passes user-supplied arguments through parse_str() without validation, allowing injection of arbitrary parameters including a site value. On WordPress Multisite installations, this enables an unauthenticated attacker to call switch_to_blog() with an arbitrary site ID and extract calendar events from any sub-site on the network, including private or hidden events. On standard Single Site installations, switch_to_blog() does not exist, causing an uncaught PHP fatal error and crashing the worker thread, creating an unauthenticated denial of service vector. This issue has been fixed in version 3.7.7.

Potential Impact

Severity is HIGH (CVSS 8.8). Depending on deployment context, affected components may be exposed to unauthorized actions or data integrity risk.

Exploitability Assessment

Exploitability is assessed as High based on published exploit references, low-bar exploit prerequisites.

Primary risk drivers: published exploit references, low-bar exploit prerequisites

Mitigation Recommendations

Validate affected product versions, prioritize patching, and monitor references for vendor remediation guidance. If immediate patching is not possible, apply compensating controls and limit exposure of vulnerable surfaces.

Detection & Monitoring

Track authentication anomalies, unexpected file writes, and suspicious plugin API activity around affected components.

Business Impact Lens

AI risk score 100/100 (Critical, High) with priority P1 Immediate. Prioritize remediation where affected components process customer data, admin sessions, or Internet-exposed workflows.

What to do about this

Patch promptly The consequence is significant even where an attacker needs a foothold first.

Fix it

Update My Calendar is a to 3.7.7 or later.

That is the complete fix. Everything below is what protects you in the meantime.

Cannot update today? Inbound firewall policies in Hack Halt Pro blocks this class of attack before WordPress processes the request.

Turn the inbound firewall to enforcing. In Observe mode requests are logged but never blocked, so the protection is reporting only.

Am I affected by this vulnerability?

You are affected if your site runs My Calendar is a. Versions below 3.7.7 are vulnerable; that release and later are not. No account is needed to exploit this, so a public site is reachable by anyone.

How do I fix it?

Update My Calendar is a to version 3.7.7 or later. That is the complete fix. Until you can update, Inbound firewall policies in Hack Halt Pro contains this class of attack at the request layer.

What can an attacker actually do?

This is a Denial of Service flaw. An attacker who exploits it can exhaust the server's resources and take the site offline.
