CVE-2026-12081 - Before 1 Plugin
CVE-2026-12081
The Database for Contact Form 7, WPforms, Elementor forms WordPress plugin before 1.5.2 does not restrict the PHP classes allowed when unserializing an attacker-supplied form-field value, allowing unauthenticated users to inject arbitrary PHP objects that are instantiated when an administrator views the stored entry. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2025-7384 and CVE-2026-2599, whose deserialization paths were hardened while the entry-editor file-field path was missed.

Technical Summary
The Database for Contact Form 7, WPforms, Elementor forms WordPress plugin before 1.5.2 does not restrict the PHP classes allowed when unserializing an attacker-supplied form-field value, allowing unauthenticated users to inject arbitrary PHP objects that are instantiated when an administrator views the stored entry. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2025-7384 and CVE-2026-2599, whose deserialization paths were hardened while the entry-editor file-field path was missed.
Potential Impact
Severity is MEDIUM (CVSS 5.0). Depending on deployment context, affected components may be exposed to unauthorized actions or data integrity risk.
Exploitability Assessment
Exploitability is assessed as Low based on low-bar exploit prerequisites.
Primary risk drivers: low-bar exploit prerequisites
Mitigation Recommendations
Validate affected product versions, prioritize patching, and monitor references for vendor remediation guidance. If immediate patching is not possible, apply compensating controls and limit exposure of vulnerable surfaces.
Detection & Monitoring
Track authentication anomalies, unexpected file writes, and suspicious plugin API activity around affected components.
Business Impact Lens
AI risk score 50/100 (Moderate, Low) with priority P4 Planned. Prioritize remediation where affected components process customer data, admin sessions, or Internet-exposed workflows.
